Tonya's Cute by Design

Well it’s been weird, huh? The weather, the economy, the whole beginning of the year bad luck thing? Hopefully it is all over now.

I have been knitting the Mystery shawl and it’s going better than I expected. I’ve been reading a lot of new books like the Jack Reacher series. One of which is a movie. Some romantic fantasy from a new author Lynn Kurland. Some of the same from an old author, Anne Bishop. I watched a documentary of the background of the Lord of the Rings books. Movie wise we went to see Warm Bodies, and loved it! That and my husband bought me a banjouke. I have been playing it almost everyday.

Spinning update, the llama I’m spinning is a bit weird. I’m making a looped boucle’. I haven’t made one of these in years. It’s labor intensive! At the shop I’ve been Skeining up some of the coned yarns to make them less intimidating. I’m working on the new sock KAL and in preparation for that Ali brought in some new sock yarn!

We’ve had resurgence in weaving interest over the past few days and I hope it keeps up! We put our name into the Lincoln Guild to host a Sheep to Shawl demo this spring. I hope they decide to come! Well that’s about all that’s going on here except for our car still being in the shop. With luck it will be out this week.

Has anyone been watching the fashion week in NY for fall 2013? I usually wait till it's all over and then look. I did get an eye on the color forcast for this year. Pink, purple, red, grey, brown, orange and two shades of green. Wow. I better get to dyeing!
