2013 Feels like

An optimistic year. I keep reminding myself that I'm not were I want to be but I am not where I used to be.( I just typed that sentence without looking!) Classes are humming, the store looks good but still has room to grow, we have our regular customers and out of towners too! Our newsletter list is way past 200 people, and new ideas are popping up all the time!8)
We're thinking about a second level tapestry class, another navajo class, online classes, merchandise with our name and logo on it, a mystery knit along, and that should carry us into late spring. Meanwhile on the front burner is getting some signage posted.:/
The silk job we were spinning is all done and after spending some time knitting the end of a 2 year old sweater I decided to rip it all out. It doesn't fit and I think the gauge is too loose! I need to use US 7 or 8 and make it longsleeve. But I don't have any more yarn! Maybe I will just put the yarn on the shelf. I did discover I no longer twist the tips off of interchangable needles! So I now have some options! ![]()
I dressed the new Sample It loom with a handpainted warp and have been searching for a weft that does it justice. The loom is very cool however and I have been showing it to people. It seems that weaving is making a resurgence. I'm happy to see this, as I wonder where all the weavers have gone... My tapestry of a Fox is coming along but my navajo weaving has stopped. Nothing wropng with it but I'm coming to the part where I will need to flip it over and work from the other side.
For those of you who haven't heard we have a puppy s things have been a little distracted lately..(where did he go now?) I'd like to get back to the dye pots soon, we have a class next week and that always inspires me. Maybe a matching weft for that handpainted warp...
Have a good one!:D
