So I was reading the blog posts of Laura Fry (she who is my new online mentor!) And found all the information I needed about hemming towels. She handsews hers but I'm not sure I want to go that far yet.
First she weaves them with thinner yarn and uses a fat colored yarn to mark the seperations between towels. Next she weaves them in the same basic structure as the towel body. So if it's a twill pattern she uses twill for the hem, if it's plain weave then the uses plain weave. ...Read Full Post »

So the towels are off the loom, the outside edges were straight stitched and the whole mess was washed. After a warm wash they were pre dryed, pressed and then fully dried.

So if you have been following on Facebook you know I am back into weaving. So far 2 scarves and 3 six ft lengths of fabric have come off the loom. Now we are working on towels.
Towels are simple things, rectangles used to dry or clean. How do you weave towels you ask?
